Every family’s needs are unique. We’re here to answer your questions, discuss our services, and help you find the right level of postpartum support for your family.
New Baby. Lots of Questions.
Frequently asked questions are part of the journey. Before we nest, let’s talk.
Postpartum doula care is non medical, in home support for families in the weeks and months after birth. A postpartum doula can help with newborn care education, feeding support, light household tasks, and emotional support giving parents more space to rest, recover, and find their rhythm at home.
While a night nurse or baby nurse typically focuses primarily on infant care, a postpartum doula supports the whole family. Nestling Nurse provides non medical daytime and overnight support that may include newborn care guidance, feeding support, light meal prep and household help, and practical, evidence-informed education for new parents.
Every visit is shaped around what your family needs that day. That might mean help with feeding, soothing, newborn routines, or light household tasks; emotional support as you adjust to parenthood; or simply an extra set of trusted hands so you can shower, eat, sleep, or take a moment for yourself.
Yes! Nestling Nurse offers both daytime and overnight postpartum support, allowing families to choose the type of care that best fits their needs and routines
Support is designed to be flexible because every family and every postpartum season is different. We’ll work with you to determine the frequency, timing, and level of support that makes the most sense for your household and our current availability.
Our hands on doula care focuses on the postpartum period, but we encourage families to connect with Nestling Nurse before baby arrives. Booking prenatally gives us time to get to know your family, talk through your postpartum needs, and have support ready when you come home.
Most families reserve postpartum support during pregnancy, with care beginning after baby arrives. Planning ahead means one less thing to figure out during those first busy weeks at home.
Earlier is always better! We recommend reaching out during your third trimester or sooner if you already know postpartum support is part of your plan. Already home with baby? Reach out anyway. If we have availability, we’d love to help.
Nestling Nurse serves families throughout Austin and surrounding Central Texas communities. Because availability and travel distance can vary, reach out with your location and we’ll let you know if your home falls within our current service area.
Absolutely. Nestling Nurse welcomes families of all kinds, including those bringing home twins or higher order multiples. We’ll talk through your family’s needs and determine the best support plan for your household.
Nestling Nurse is a private pay, non medical postpartum support service and does not bill insurance or provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. Because individual HSA/FSA plans and eligible expenses vary, families interested in using those funds should check directly with their plan administrator before booking.
